Business Modules

AECS’ range of Professional Business Communication Modules are designed for students who wish to develop the vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading and writing skills needed to maximize the effectiveness of their communication at work. These courses below are specially designed to equip you with the communication skills you need in everyday business situation:

Oral Presentations

This module will improve your skills in giving presentations in work-related situation. You will learn how to:

- Organize your presentations more effectively

- Deliver your presentations in an engaging way

- Keep your audiences listen

- Answer your audience’s questions

- Use key functional language for different stages of the presentations

- Use your body (eye and gestures) and voice effectively

- Deal with nervousness

In class, you will have opportunities to put the above into practice by developing and giving your own presentations. Using your laptop, LCD with power point, and audio recordings, you will also evaluate your own and other people’s presentations. This, together with the feedback from your instructor, will help you to develop your skills even further.



Business Correspondence

This module will help you write short business texts such as letters, memos, faxes and e-mails more effectively. Input and practice sessions focus on the following points:

- Organization

- Clarity

- Conciseness

- Readership

- Accuracy

- Writing conventions

Better English Writing

This 33-hour course is designed to help you improve your general writing skills.

- White clear and effective sentences

- White cohesive and logical paragraphs

- Use grammar and punctuation correctly

You will also learn the process of writing:

- Pre-writing brainstorming

- Planning-organizing and identifying audience

- Writing and revising drafts

- Editing

By the end of the course you will have completed a written assignment of your own choosing.
